What is Allergy-Rfâ„¢?

Allergy-Rfâ„¢ is a natural health product made from certified organic eggs (white and yolk only) obtained from a particular quail species (Coturnix coturnix). The quails are fed a proprietary, scientifically-formulated diet under strict guidelines in which no antibiotics, hormones or pharmaceuticals are used. Allergy-Rfâ„¢ was originally developed by a team of European scientists after significant inroads into scientific research validated the efficacy of some quail egg glycoproteins in the relief of respiratory distress caused by seasonal and environmental allergens.

What is Allergy-Rfâ„¢ intended for?

Allergy-Rfâ„¢ is intended to temporarily relieve symptoms associated with seasonal and environmental allergies. Scientific studies indicate that Allergy-Rfâ„¢ provides rapid relief for respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, nasal obstruction, runny nose, watery eyes, itchy eyes and itchy nose when taken upon first contact with an allergen.

How does it work?

Many allergens such as pollen, dust mites, mold and animal dander contain specific enzymatic proteins called tryptases. Upon inhalation, tryptases stimulate the release of histamines from mast cells and cause allergy symptoms such as itchy nose, watery eyes, scratchy throat, etc. Allergy-Rfâ„¢ prevents tryptases from initiating and compounding the physiological cascade of events that leads to a full-blown allergic response.

How is Allergy-Rfâ„¢ different from other allergy products available over-the-counter (OTC)?

Most OTC anti-allergy products block the activity of histamines after they have been released from mast cells during an allergic attack. Allergy-Rfâ„¢ proactively works to prevent the release of histamines, thereby greatly reducing an allergic response.

How safe is Allergy-Rfâ„¢?

Clinical trials conducted with quail egg homogenate/or quail egg powder (the source of the active ingredient in Allergy-Rfâ„¢) have demonstrated that chronic use (up to 450 days) is safe and well tolerated.  No adverse events were reported after occasional use of Allergy-Rfâ„¢ in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.

I have been told that quality and consistency are big issues in the natural health products industry. What steps have been taken to address these issues?

The eggs used in the production of Allergy-Rfâ„¢ are certified organic and optimal levels of key bioactive molecules in the eggs are ensured by feeding the quail a proprietary, scientifically-formulated diet under strict guidelines in which no antibiotics, hormones or pharmaceuticals are used.

We ensure that the product does not contain any potential allergens such as milk, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacean shellfish and soybeans (except eggs), as well as does not contain any ingredients derived from GMO sources such as corn, soybeans, cotton, canola, potatoes, tomatoes etc.

What studies have been done on Allergy-Rfâ„¢ to demonstrate its effects on allergy symptoms?

Source of active ingredient in Allergy-Rfâ„¢, quail eggs, demonstrated to be effective in the relief of pollen-induced seasonal rhinitis in three studies.

 

  • Effects of quail eggs in the relief of pollen-induced seasonal rhinitis (sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy nose) were evaluated in 3 studies, which included 435 patients, of whom 208 took quail eggs. The patients in all 3 studies were asymptomatic at the time of enrollment and started taking the study product 30 to 60 days prior to the expected onset of pollen season.
     

    • In all trials, consumption of quail egg homogenates resulted in a statistically significant reduction in the intensity of rhinitis and improvement in the condition of nasal mucosa. Quail eggs homogenate administration was found to be safe and was well-tolerated by the subjects. Consumption of quail eggs also resulted in significant reduction in administration of rescue medications ‒ a further indicator of the product’s efficacy.
       

Allergy-Rfâ„¢ efficacy and safety confirmed in double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
 

  • A recently completed randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial conducted by an independent, US-based Contract Research Organization determined the efficacy and safety of Allergy-RF in healthy subjects exposed to a standardized allergenic challenge. Forty-three subjects received one acute dose of either Allergy-RF or placebo given concomitantly to a standardized amount of a mixture of outdoor and indoor allergens including grass and tree pollen, dust mites, as well as cat and dog dander.
     

  • Over a two-hour period, subjects’ Peak Nasal Inspiratory Flow (PNIF), an objective measure of respiratory comfort, was measured. Subjects’ perceived feelings of well-being in relation to allergy-related symptoms as well as immunoglobulin E count were also recorded.
     

    • Exposure to the allergenic challenge resulted in a gradual decrease in the subjects’ PNIF values.
       

    • Subjects who took Allergy-Rf demonstrated significantly less decrease in PNIF than those who took the placebo. This indicated that the subjects on Allergy-Rf were able to breathe significantly better through their nose than those on placebo.
       

    • The beneficial effects of Allergy-Rf were apparent as early as 15 minutes after consumption of the tablets. Subjects’ perceived feelings of allergy-related nasal discomforts such as stuffy nose, itchy nose, watery eyes and itchy eyes were also significantly reduced in the Allergy-Rf group. No adverse events occurred during the study.

How long Allergy-Rfâ„¢ should be taken?

Allergy-Rfâ„¢ is intended for occasional use only. It provides rapid relief in respiratory symptoms if taken upon first contact with allergen. Scientific studies have demonstrated relief in as fast as 15 minutes.
